Using Insurance

I feel it is important for my clients to have a choice and have their privacy maintained throughout the therapeutic process. I also understand the need for insurance. I want you, the client, to know the risks and benefits in using insurance so that you can make a well informed decision on how you pay for therapy.

Insurance benefits can only be used to treat an illness. A diagnosis of a mental health disorder is required that can forever be associated with a client. The diagnosable codes may follow you even after the termination of therapy. This may affect you later on as you might be considered a high risk or being denied insurance coverage.

If you choose to use your mental health insurance benefits, I would be happy to bill for you. I am in network with United Health Care and Aetna through Headway, Cigna, and Lyra. If I am not in network with your insurance, I would be happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance. Please note that not all insurances will reimburse for mental health services. Full payment will be required at time of service for those that I do not take their insurance.

If you choose to not use your insurance, you will need to sign an opt out form stating you will not be using your insurance.
