Owl Counseling Policies

No Shows

To ensure the counseling process goes smoothly, please familiarize yourself with the policies.

Parental Consent

Children thrive when there is consistency in their lives. Therefore, both parents must be part of treatment. Both parents are required to sign the intake paperwork and are responsible for payment and attendance to sessions.

Payment

All payments are due to at the time of session. A credit card is required to be kept on file for no shows. I use Ivy Pay to charge.

Insurance

I take BCBS, Cigna, United Health, and Lyra. I bill United Health and Aetna through Headway. If you are insured, please make sure you give me a copy of your insurance card and driver's license before your first session. I will call to verify your insurance. I highly recommend that you also call to verify your insurance coverage. Please note that no shows, late cancellations, or sessions that are denied by insurance due to a lack of coverage is your responsibility to pay. I will charge your card on file. Some clients choose to opt out of using their insurance for various reasons. If you choose to not use your insurance, I will have you fill out an opt out agreement.

Sessions are 45 to 50 minutes long. If you are more than 15 minutes late or do not cancel the session or reschedule within the appropriate amount of time, it is considered a no show. Reasonable amount of time is within 24 hours. The latest is 2 hours from your scheduled appointment. After two no shows, you will be given a list of referrals. If you are using your insurance, insurance will not cover the no shows nor late cancellations.
